Radio Caroline Annual Fundraiser
Dear Radio Caroline supporter,
Join us on Friday, August 9th for our Four Day Annual Fundraiser, and get your hands on these great limited edition teeshirts.
This year we have a choice of two very different teeshirts.
The first celebrates the fact that July 3rd was the 60th anniversary of when Mi Amigo first started broadcasting Radio Caroline. However, rather than show her in her 60’s look, we have gone with an image and slogan from the much loved 70’s, WITH LOVE PEACE AND GOOD MUSIC.
For those supporters who are looking for something other than a ship design, we have commissioned an 80’s inspired design featuring a quote of Ronan O’Rahilly from the 1991 BBC Arena documentary, A Pirate’s Tale, RADIO CAROLINE CAN BE ANYWHERE… RIGHT?
Ronan’s words were certainly prophetic, now that Radio Caroline is available on multiple platforms in the UK and around the world on the internet.
The Ronan teeshirt design is reminiscent of the CHOOSE LIFE teeshirts in the Wham! video for Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and the FRANKIE SAYS RELAX teeshirts for Frankie Goes To Hollywood, both of which are regarded as being classic designs from that era.
Our fundraiser will run on Radio Caroline and Caroline Flashback from Friday, August 9th until midnight, UK time, on Monday, August 12th, and on Radio Caroline North, live from MV Ross Revenge online and on 648 AM and 1368 AM, from the same time until closedown on Sunday, August 11th.
You will be able to receive the teeshirt of your choice if you make a one-off donation of £30.00 or more, or if you join the Radio Caroline Support Group for a minimum monthly donation of £7.50, cancellable at any time. If you wish to receive more than one teeshirt, you will be able to do so by making an additional one-off minimum donation.
The Mi Amigo teeshirt will be available in black, and the Ronan teeshirt will be available in white or black. We will be offering both teeshirts in a traditional men’s fit and also a ladies fit, featuring a scooped neckline.
If you join the RCSG by monthly donation, you will also receive immediately by email our July RCSG Newsletter, and all future editions every three months until you may choose to terminate your contributions. The July Newsletter is a bumper edition featuring 15 articles on all that you want to know about Radio Caroline, past, present and future, and more!
The teeshirts will not be made available after the Fundraiser, and, in order to receive one, you must make your donation, or join the RCSG, on the Radio Caroline website no earlier than Friday, August 9th and before midnight, UK time, on Monday, August 12th.
The donation button will go live on our website early on Friday, August 9th.
One half of the proceeds of the fundraiser will be contributed to our Ross Revenge Charity to raise funds to put the ship into dry dock, and the other half will be allocated to maintain and, where appropriate, expand the operation of our three broadcast channels.
We are hoping for another successful fundraiser, as this is the largest single source of funds that we have to keep the radio station going, and we need as much additional funding as possible for our charity appeal to keep MV Ross Revenge afloat.
We can only do this with your support.
You will be able to choose not to receive a teeshirt, if you prefer, and donations of any amount will always be gratefully received.
The teeshirts will be available for order worldwide. They are printed in, and mailed from, our supplier in Northern Ireland, in order to avoid customs duties in the EU. And of course they will be delivered duty free in the UK.
We hope that you will join us for this important fundraising event, including some great Caroline presenters and music throughout the four days.
