World Heavy Metal Day.

Every 16th of May, since 2011, the World Heavy Metal Day is celebrated, on the initiative of fans and musicians of Metal or Heavy Metal, in honor of one of the greatest exponents of this musical genre: the mythical Ronnie James Dio (1942-2010), coinciding with the date of his death in 2010.

Dio was an Italian-American singer, who popularized the famous gesture of the cuernitos (Devil’s Horns) that so characterizes heavy metal, learning this gesture from his grandmother of Italian origin, who used it as a superstition to scare away the devil.
